The magazine was launched in Stockholm in 1966.[1] The publisher was Sällskapet för forskninginformation.[1] It was published on a bimonthly basis from its start in 1966 to 1968.[1] FoF was then pub
lished ten times per year.[2] The frequency was switched to eight times annually.[1] The magazine is financed by the Swedish Research Council and other Swedish research foundations such as Natur & Kultur.
