The golf course was designed and built by Peter Matkovich in 2003. The brief given to the architect was to design a course that is playable for all levels of golfers, yet challenging for professional golfers. It is intended to be user-friendly, enjoyable to play and memorable. The course is an excellent example of a Bushveld layout with wide fairways lined with indigenous grasses and a variety of Bushveld trees. The routing of the course is excellent and every hole is isolated with no interference from players on any other holes. With an excellent climate and sufficient water, the course is normally maintained in good condition year round. Normal summer rain is required to keep the fairways strong and green through the winter months.
