It all began in 1993, when our founder Pat opened up a small computer repair business in the Auckland suburb of Panmure. It was during these early years at PB Tech that he first became frustrated with
the high prices of the computer components that he needed to carry out his repairs. His solution to combat these high prices was to call up other local computer businesses and arrange ‘group buys’ from overseas suppliers where he could leverage the bulk quantities ordered to negotiate a better price. Pat couldn't have known it at the time, but that very first bulk buy he arranged sometime in 1995 was the start of a strategy which would help propel PB Tech to become New Zealand’s larges
